3D Portrait of Chilean Presidemt Salvador Allende. Acrylic Painting on Recycled Beer Cans [Recycled Art]

To commemorate the 50th anniversary of  his untimely death during Pinochet's the brutal coup d'etat in September 1973, I painted this 3D portrait of Salvador Allende in the autumn of 2023. Its acrylic painted on a recycled wooden box filled with recycled beer cans.

Salvador Guillermo Allende Gossens ( 26 June 1908 – 11 September 1973) was a socialist politician, who served as the 28th president of Chile from 1970 until his death in 1973, As a democratic socialist committed to democracy, he has been described as the first Marxist to be elected president in a liberal democracy in Latin America.​
