Covid Apocalypse

Having spent the last week down with Covid I have been wondering how quicky it has been erased from the public discourse. Today I went for my daily 16K run for the first time in a week and found to abandoned greyhounds. They followed me for a while as if I was the only human left on the planet. There wasn't another person in a miles, the October morning sun was blazing and proyecting long shadows which created a surrealist atmosphere as out of a Dalí painting. I stopped and considered, What if Covid had killed all humanity bar me? The two famelic greyhounds run away distrustfully.
